Juvenile Justice Symposium

Juvenile Justice Symposium (JJS) is a presentation to youth or parents that provides information on laws and rights pertaining to juveniles.  The presentation is given by GFPC staff along with law enforcement and other local experts.

Parent Survey

GFPC launched its first ever parent survey in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and all 3 counties  in an effort to gather feedback from parents of 6th-12th graders on attitudes, behaviors, perceptions and limits around youth alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, prescription and other drug (ATOD) use. This data was then used to launch a comprehensive media campaign which included a direct mailing and radio/print ads.

Parent Empowerment

GFPC works to build awareness and educate parents on local youth and parent-reported data on substance abuse, as well as substance abuse prevention tips and information from local experts.  Through media campaigns, dissemination of brochures and resources, workshops/forums, and other tools, we strive to empower the parents in our communities.  Did you know that kids whose parents talk to them about drugs and alcohol use are 50% less likely to use substances? Contact you county office to find out more about our Parent Empowerment Programs.
